Quick Stopover
Discussion
Near us we have this place

I know abroad there are Aire etc
Anybody know of a place like Rimmer House on the way down to the South West where we can have a night stopover without needing (or paying) for full site facilities?
We're going from Preston to Looe in the middle of August and most places still want upwards of £15 for the night. We're looking for somewhere off the M5 that isn't a noisy motorway services. Just a simple hard-standing will do.
We'll be stopping at about 9.30pm which is past when most sites will let you in anyway.

There's a website I think, where pubs allow motorhomes to park in their car park for free. The assumption being that they use the pub for evening meal/couple of beers.
My local does this, but is probably too far down for you.

Here's the website, but I see it costs £30 a year to join. However, your stopovers are free from there on.

I looked at motorhomestopover but after reading around, quite a few pubs will do this anyway if you ask nicely. My local does this, but is probably too far down for you.

I used to do Preston to Devon very often, my cunning one night only stop is the Football club carpark in Broadway in the Cotswolds.http://www.rimmerhouse.com/

Stopped there loads of times in small to medium sized vans and coachbuilts,it has an award winning public toilet and is very quiet,if you arrive after 5/6 and leave earlyish its free and I never got bothered there once, its a stunning village too.
