First time taking CB Junior (aged three) camping last night. We stayed at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, and was able to have pizzas with the giraffes after closing (including in the price) and a meet and great with the camels at breakfast! You do pay extra for the meet and great - £5 per person, and don’t know in advance what it’ll be - I suspect it’ll be something each day of the week.
Animals aside, nice enough site - with a bar, minidisco, games tent etc. as you’d expect at a place like this it is on the pricey side. We’re members so visit frequently and wanted to go somewhere local for his first time. This did mean we didn’t have to pay extra to enter the park, which made our stay £30.
His evening went something like this
6pm - this is really fun
9pm - this is amazing I want to go camping again
2pm - I want to go home
7am - I love camping.

Hook Norton, Oxfordshire this weekend, during a brief respite in the relentless rain.
I managed to fit my big tent, two air beds, sleeping bags, clothes, cooking equipment, a Porta Potti 365, food and beer into my E46, which was quite impressive.
Campsite was a muddy field at the back of a pub with a tap, two pub toilets and an elsan point. My wife booked it but I’m inclined to think that £25 a night for that is rather taking the piss a tad.

1 bar of 4g so good enough for about 3 seconds of footie for every 60 seconds played,
Wind, rain, hail and a bit of sun = muddy
Discovered a few more issues with my new bus so it’ll need to go back to the converter for the 3rd time in 6 weeks.
Absolutely hammered down on Sunday morning when trying to pack up so I got soaked and I then at home had to lay everything out to get dried again before packing away.
One positive, my 4-Motion shod with KO2’s got me out of the muddy field, my mates not so lucky
