I'd suggest getting a tarp and hammock and learning how to put them up in a few different ways.
A much nicer experience than sleeping in a tent. Especially waking up and being able to see where you are.
Depends where you are, Dartmoor for instance does not have many trees!A much nicer experience than sleeping in a tent. Especially waking up and being able to see where you are.

Small point of order Murci, isn't wild camping or Dartmoor or Exmoor illegal?
Yes, but as long as you're sensible, essentially nobody will even know you're there. Here are the allowable areas.

Not Dartmoor, but I'm out from Thursday for a few days with my daughter on the Brecon Beacons. So far the forecast is looking pretty good.

Bought a Sawyer filter a couple of years ago & have never used it, we have camped by a river & boiled water.
Not had chance to get out yet this year . Hoping to change that very soon, thinking a covert beach camp maybe.
Having owned a couple of mororhomes I can safelysay I’m not biased but true wild camping is something very different, not better, different.
They both offer different things, personally I wouldn’t want to wild camp for more than 1-2 nights, I could stay in a motorhome for weeks or possibly months & plan to do just that in a few years.

You joke but for years I'd be up loads of times (don't know if that's old age, the amount I drink, or mental) but never considered a 'pee bottle'.
Life/camping changing
Apparently fabric conditioner bottles are great due to wider opening?Life/camping changing
Not sure I’m brave enough to pee, half asleep, in my tent!

It's probably getting a bit late in the year for this (for me anyway!) but can anyone recommend a bikepacking tent please, 1 man? I can see lots of great value stuff on decathlon but they don't often pack down as small as they could for carrying on a bike.
Anyone have any suggestions / pictures please?
