I have a relative who lives in rural Wales on about 40 acres of land and is thinking of getting a pickup for duties on the land, and local running about to collect materials, go to the dump etc.

Any reason they shouldn't look at the Maxus T90EV? This is for domestic purposes and DIY with a bit of heavy lifting dealing with downed trees, fencing stuff and the like, ferrying tools about etc.

Maybe would need to use a trailer occasionally, are they rated for that?

They've got another car (Jag F-Type V8!) for long runs and fun, so not too worried about range and on road manners.

Anyone got one? Thoughts? Reliability and robustness in particular? They look an absolute bargain at about 15k on a 23 plate or so.

There were some giveaway lease deals on these a couple of years ago, I think there is a thread in the car buying forum for those who got on it.

Generally not well reviewed. Only came in 2WD. Ground clearance ste due to the battery. I would not spend £15k on one.

Thanks. Had no idea they were only 2WD, how daft.

I think that probably rules it out, no wonder they're so cheap.
