Returning a leased van with damage
Discussion
We have a van due to go back that has the passenger door and the 2 rear doors that really need replacing.
We had a quote from a body shop which came back at £6k eek.
No issues in taking a hit for this as the damage was done by us, but I am considering returning it as is and seeing what bill we get - when you return a car with damaged wheels it tends to be cheaper to just pay the fine in my experience.
What do you reckon?

If you return that van to the leasing company declaring the damage then my advice is to stop at Boots on the way for some Vaseline because you are going to need it . Get several quotes for the work required and go with the one you think best . The problem is always going to be timescales and how soon you can get the van attended to . Bodyshops are often rammed repairing ex leasing stock to return back into the retail trade and some parts can also be a minefield with varying lead times .

Check what your lease company terms are for acceptable damage The acceptable criteria for a commercial vehicle is usually very different from a regular car, and can be surprisingly lenient. Usually!.
Two rear doors and the passenger door wont come under "lenient" and you can trust me on that . A far better suggestion would be to source the parts from a breaker and simply have a garage refit and possibly paint . Gassing Station | Commercial Break | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
