This system is fitted to our vans. It drives us insane as it is hyper sensitive.
The flashing pic is fine but the high pitched tone when you are trying to complete a tight turn/maneuver is actually very off putting and makes things worse. Yes there is a mute button but the system reactivates everytime you go cross 18mph either way. So every single junction or slow residential area it re arms.
Have tried all the button combos on the unit but just seems to be contrast brightness etc.
There are clearly different settings as different vans have different volumes.
Thoughts and help please.

Some nice ideas so far but can't actually vandalise the thing so cutting the wires is out. Speaker on the back of it but tried muffling it and it really didn't work.
Hoping someone knows a secret combination of button holding that opens up a hidden menu tbh

Is it worth having a discussion with the fleet manager to see if they can be re set or re calibrated?

It's there to prevent death. Is a little annoying bleeping sound more important than human life.?

Asking as I Work in product development in a truck company in lancashire, and will pass the answer on to the requirements and homologation teams.

Easy to say that, but it's worthless if it's constantly going off inappropriately. A safety system constantly throwing false alarms is almost as bad as not having one.

Poorly designed indicators/alarms that distracted inexperienced operators contributed to the 3 Mile Island accident; ergonomics and human factors are complicated fields.
