Trying to get quotes for a new Courier van and most companies can’t quote as the van isn’t on their system (and I pick it up next Friday..)

However, the few companies I’ve had quotes from are all in the £700 - 1200 price range (I currently pay £295 fully comp for my current Connect van) - Admiral are coming in at £340 fc.

Anyone used them for van insurance?
Just seems too cheap compared to everyone else.

I used the, via their commercial brand, Gladiator. £1200 for a transit last year, £2300 quote this year. paid £1300 elsewhere.

Gladiator were only a few quid more but the reviews weren’t great..

Can’t get my head around paying double for a small van than I do for a 500hp Giulia.
It’s mad.

Was with Admiral for years then last premium went up quite a bit so now with Churchill van. I just take the risk and go with the cheapest.

Yes. I’ve with them on and off for the last 8 years or so.

I used to switch between Admiral and Aviva, but now Aviva are refusing to give me a quote, (on any of my cars or my vans), it’s Admiral only, who are the only mainstream company that provide me with a quote.

On just one of my vans my insurance with Admiral last year was £23xx pa. Now it’s £6012 pa with no changes to my policy besides an extra years NCD.

Had to have a new windscreen yesterday (on my current van insurance) so have updated quotes for the claim for the new van - it’s added £300 to the cost!

A brand new Connect at the same value is £350 a year - something about the Courier they don’t like.

Is it because it’s a brand new model and if you bash it up it will take a while to get parts to repair and likely will end up as a write off?

Maybe in 6 months time the quotes will be lower?

Also does the new courier have an instance group yet?
The previous one was group 8 - 11.

Yes, that could be the reason.
It seems to have been put into group 26 or there abouts which is the same as the current Connect I think.

If I do a quote for a brand new Connect at the same purchase price the insurance is £350, which is what I pay now.

Edit - Connect is group 31!

Group 26 for the courier!

That’s bloody high, and I’m not sure why it’s quite a simple repair and being a Ford there will be thousands of copied parts within a few years.

It’s mad laugh
And 31 for a Connect..

Spoke to Admiral today - as my policy doesn’t start until Friday they’ve put the windscreen claim down and it’s not cost anymore.
Online quotes were £600 plus with the claim.
