Recently bought my first van, a Vivaro panel van that seems perfect for what I need. It's ply lined except the roof, which I assume to be normal.

I got in it today and after the bulkhead, the load area roof is really wet with condensation.

I dried it as best I could and chucked a couple of pouches of dessicant in, but it got me wondering if it's normal or of there's a problem with the van? How best to resolve it?

Thanks in advance.

Totally normal.

I used to spec mine with a flettner rotating vent in the roof which solved it.

Yep, perfectly normal. It’s single skin in the back bar the support struts. it’ll always be cold and attract moisture, especially when as cold as recent weeks. Dry it out, put some cheapo dessicant in there, blow some hot air through it with an electric fan will all help, but it’s unlikely to cure it. You won’t see it in the summer months unless it’s very humid and the temps really drop at night where you are.

Thanks for the replies. I'll keep it as dry as I can and not worry about.

Can't say I've noticed it before in 3 decades but with 6" of snow on the roof mine had a load on the ceiling this week!

some of that self-adhesive 3mm thick stuff would probably suffice no?
