Well I've just bought a Ford Transit minibus 17 seater for my day centre. We are profit making so we have to go down to PSV route.

I am having to complete an application for a Certificate of Initial Fitness PSV 417. Several of the questions on the Certificate of Original Fitness form PSV 417 are proving impossible to answer!!

Please could anyone provide any assistance or point me in the right direction?

The vehicle details and the questions that we cannot answer are pasted below.

Thanks

............

Crazy idea but have you tried asking Ford or a specialist Van dealership?

The axle weights and GVW will be listed on a plate, probably under the bonnet.

The type of suspension can be worked out by looking to see if it is metal coil springs or leafs etc.

Has it been converted to a minibus? Or modified? If it's already registered as a minibus there should be no need for all of this.

If you contact Ford and ask for a CoC (certificate of conformity) that should cover most of it.

If you need to end up proving compliance you will either need an existing "model report" that confirms your vehicle meets the requirements (this will be based on a similar one having been tested) or you'll need to pay for a few thousand pounds worth of testing!
