I'm in the market for a van such as a Transit Custom or VW Transporter and one requirement is to have a tailgate instead of barn doors.
Can anyone recommend a decent van search that allows you to specify this? I've tried Autotrader, Car Gurus, eBay and it's really tedious having to click in to the listings to see what the back of the van looks like.

When i was looking for my transporter i wanted a tailgate, you tend to find when people are selling with a tailgate it is highlighted as its a good feature, Autotrader search was useful but I got mine from the T6 forum as there are always ones for sale on there.

They seem like hens teeth, I ended up buying a basic spec Vivaro rather than the sportive I really wanted just because it popped up 5 mins down the road, was keenly priced and had a tailgate. I figure I can fit electric windows, alloys and do a bit of colour coding easier than swapping rear doors.

I suppose the tailgate is better for sports and activities, but most of these vans get bought initially by tradesmen who prefer the barn doors.

Use the Autotrader app, when you’re setting the filter for make, model etc scroll right down to the bottom and put tailgate as the keyword,

Just tried it for the Renault Trafic and it works fine.

Struts are probably £10-15 each to replace so not an issue. A roll of window tint film is even less. It's instantly having a sheltered area to get changed under and keeping what's in the back of the van dry that is the appeal to me.

Just a quick hint (Van dealer here) try using the door option. Doesn't always give the best results, however, 4 doors should mean Tailgate and one side loading door on a panel van!

What budget do you have, I may be able to point you at a few.
