Anyone had to do this. Company I work for has a letter as been picked to do the "Road haulage survey" and they have picked the registration of the lorry that I drive.

Just curious if uts just case me filling out paperwork broadcasting every little thing I do or what it actually involves survey wise.

Taken place at end of this month

Never heard of this, who and what set of overpaid underworked apparatchiks are the authors, who sees the results and how safe is the data and what will it be used for...data protection implications?
Do you want to take part, do you get paid extra for time taken or have shorter days planned in order to complete.

Part of department of transport. Apparently its an official and can't say no. And yeh during that week they are given all my details blah blah. Hoping to find out more info when back at base on Friday.

What I read up on I have to state all my journeys, how much fuel and mileage ect

And asks my weight for each load which gonna be a task on its own as I drive car transporters so having to Google car weights and estimate weight then subtract if I have to do several drops.

Got no holidays left so couldn't avoid and they would have rejected the request.

Comes up on a Google search road haulage survey

It's a routine thing, don't sweat it. Just keep a log of what you're doing and a data entry clerk will mindlessly type it into a database and it will be forgotten about.

It's scaremongering bks. Had one at the place I worked as TM. I filed it in the round basket and never heard anything further. I recommend you do the same unless you like working for free filling in all their crap which they'll promptly ignore and do whatever they want anyway.
