Evening,

I’ve been offered a Vivaro EV through my work and I’m still a bit undecided as there seem to be pro’s and con’s so just wondered if anybody has run one day to day…

Fleet are suggesting a real world range of 120 miles and most days I do anything from 25 to 100 but it’d be laden with roof gear and my driving is mixed but mostly urban plus rural roads. In Scotland. And winter is coming.

Company will install a charger at home and cover all costs and there’s access to chargers out and about if need be, which I think may be needed if I’m doing the upper end of my daily mileage.

The appeal is it’s a brand new van and having driven ICE versions, I quite like them as vans plus it’s slightly bigger and better equipped. It also won’t have an eclectic mix of budget tyres unlike my current, baggy diesel one.

But, the range is a big worry… if they’re quoting 120 miles is that more likely to be 70 or something like that in winter with lights, wipers and heaters going?

So basically, looking for any thoughts / experiences from anybody who has run one daily… how did you get on? What sort of range were you getting? Any issues? Should I just stick with my reeky diesel for now?

Thanks

Merry

That website is pretty good for giving an idea on range. I suspect 120 miles might be optimistic on the coldest of winter days but doable the rest of the year.

No idea why they don't stick a bigger battery in these vans. 50kwh (45kwh usable) is pretty weak.

You really need the 75kw battery which extends the range to something more useable. We had a few on demo at my previous employer and rated them.

Bit of a delayed response on my part... however just been informed that it will be a 75kw version that will be getting delivered. So on that basis, it's happening and I won't lie, I'm a bit nervous about certain aspects and I'm currently trying to give myself a crash course on all things EV / chargers / efficient usage and such like, with varying degrees of success!
