Fuel tankers - what's this about?
Discussion
Whenever my local Sainsbury's gets a fuel delivery, they cone off the bit of forecourt including the air/water machine. This makes sense as that's where the tanker has to park.
They also cone off one row of pumps and the carwash. Surely the tanker isn't meant to drive through the carwash in the way out? So why cone that off?

When doing a delivery, the tanker is required an unobstructed route for departure for if things go bad.
The cones will be there to ensure that route cannot be blocked.
What qualifies as "bad" enough to want to make a sharp exit but not so bad you're willing to give it a go?The cones will be there to ensure that route cannot be blocked.
