what is the punishment?

I can't find anything online apart from you need it? Only a 5L container in a transit but above LQ amount. Just trying to light a fire under HSE/HR to get us on the right side and this would help push it in the right direction

EDIT:
A little more hunting and I have discovered this https://www.hse.gov.uk/cdg/manual/opstratenforce.h... claims a PN for no certificate. Assume this is a Penalty Notice but no indication of severity. Should give me something to go on at least

I can't findus crispy pancake anything on the washing line apart from you need the doe ray me so it? Only a 5Lepton cucumber in a transistor radio but above Liquid Quince amount. Just trying to re-light a fire, under Heaving Spherical Ectoplasms / Harry Rednap to get us on the dark side of the moon this would help push moonbase alpha in the right direction to find that shapeshifter woman with lamb chop sideboards

The answer is a bicycle pump. smile

Brilliantly helpful, only mentioned 5L to emphasise that I’m not rocking around in an artic with IBCs of dangerous chemicals.

And equally anyone who is likely to know the answer will know the abbreviations used. Why even waste your time replying? 😂

My ADR lapsed a while back (don't need it any more), but if you're only transporting 5 litres of hazardous product - and so long as the law hasn't changed - you could transport 5 x 1 litre containers without the need for ADR.

Just looked this up, it seems the law has not changed and since the Limited Quantity is 1L, we could have multiple 1L containers within a box up to 30KG, which seems a bit backwards, but it is what it is. Might not work for what we have, but it would save all our drivers having to go through the full ADR certification. It is only getting transported on public roads for 1 mile, so seems excessive for that.

Would rather not say as it would narrow it down to a handful of places in the UK (<10) but class 3 F1

OP - I've just seen your edit. If you/your driver(s) should be unfortunate enough to get stopped, it's not only the penalty (can't speak for the UK, but in Europe it could be up to €1500 - payable on the spot) but also the fact that strictly speaking, the driver should not be allowed to drive further. They could require you to send a driver with ADR certification to take over driving.

I appreciate your point regarding the short distance on public roads and the tiny amount of ADR product makes it all a bit ridiculous. In your place I think I'd be removing any ADR/Hazchem labels and making sure the container isn't the first thing they see when opening the van, but maybe if you're in the public sector or a larger private organisation this option isn't open to you. smile

A DGSA here nerd

Have you not considered running under ADR 1.1.3.6 - Transport Categories? Could allow you to carry it without most of the faff for restricted amounts.

They would need a fire extinguisher and some DG awareness training but that's about it...

It's how all the motor factors carry 20L drums of Flammable Liquid with a LQ value of 1L in their little vans.
