Many variables I know, but 2 people in it, say 300kg of cargo

What sort of ballpark mpg can something like this do, sat on the motorway at 55/60mph?

I've never driven anything like it so have no reference point at all!

Used to drive a similar Iveco on a 460 mile round trip

It needed at least 2 full tanks, we reckoned about 18 mpg !

Yeah they're definitely not economical with low twenties at best probably about right.

It's also worth keeping the speed down as much as you can - tucking in behind an artic and plodding along at 56mph will use a lot less than trying to keep up 65/70. The slipstream effect behind something big even at a safe distance also makes a surprising difference.

Drop the speed on the M way and hyper Mike behind an attic and you’ll get notably better MPG.

Totally base vehicle & shape of the body dependant, some as said only high teens, but others, for example on a long euro run I can hit 30 mpg fully laden

I presume you mean an all up weight of 3000kg . That type of van is usually rated at 3500kg max .
A big difference will be the engine power ,the low power version running near max weight will suffer from poor mpg ,headwinds will also play a big part .
High teens if your lucky .
