Hi all - was really hoping someone could help. I'm sourcing a base vehicle for a camper conversion and have been won over by the practicality of the boxer/relay. I've been shortlisting vans hoping to purchase in next couple of days but for my budget ending up having to choose between early 2016 versions that are the holder HDI engines (mostly 2.2L) or to pay a little extra (maybe £750) and get the blueHDI engine (2L), which seems to be the only substantial change to the model since. I'd be really curious to hear if anyone has any knowledge or experience on practical terms if it's worth it to get the upgrade (you also get that cab drink & phone holder). All I can find online is the obvious increased efficiency, which I'm aware can differ in the real world so curious what people think of that (camper conversion will be a typical layout in an L2, so table, bed, kitchen). I've also read people can get annoyed with the start stop system and that some preferred the older engines so really hard to decide!

Does anyone have experience with these engines? Thanks!

Isn't the ducato the same van too.

No expert but sometimes the older ( dirty Diesel) is a better option
