A lot of Van for the money and it’s a decent enough drive.

Have no doubt, Maxus have purchased a Ford Transit and copied it through out which is not a bad thing.

Front cab is very Ford like, plenty of space, visibility, well built.

Engine (think it was a 2.0 diesel) had plenty of poke (I didn’t check mpg), felt nice cruising, no dramas, nice enough gear change.

Rear is well built, door hinges are good and strong, very transit like the way it looks.

Overall, a genuine alternative to a Ford Transit if 1. You have a Maxus dealer near you and 2. You can’t afford a Ford Transit.

Would have no problem buying one, I am sure they are a lot more of an attractive package price wise compared to the Ford Transit. I think the warranty is longer than Fords 3 year warranty.

Good question

I don’t know

I have been on the Maxus website and there isn’t a price list (it’s not a very good website to be fair).

Most ‘deals’ are for HP or lease, can’t find a cash price from a quick google.

5 year warranty as standard

Plus the VAT?
A lot of new van for £19k.

My local Ford dealer was offering new Transits for £23k + VAT in an offer they had on in March.

Just looked at the pictures of it. They don't seriously expect to sell that over here without Ford suing them into a fine paste, do they?

Well I had a look around my mates transit today on site and it really is a carbon copy.

The Maxus 5 year 125,000 miles warranty is the big selling point, it’s comprehensive.

Much better than the Ford 3 year 100,000 warranty.

The challenge these things might have at the moment is parts availability and dealer network. However it will likely catch up and will become a player in due course.

Maxus is yet another SAIC brand and just like with MG they’re going to make their real impact by selling the electric versions I reckon.
