Hi

I have received a D4 medical form from the DVLA as it’s is due next month. According to the DVLA website there has been a 12 months extension so I don’t need to do anything and can ignore it?

Thanks

I’m not sure if you just asked a question in there or not...

Hi

Yes it is a bit gibberish lol.

I am working out of the country and don’t have a return date due to COVID restrictions. My medical is due next month and I received a D4 form from the DVLA. I was looking on there site for contact numbers to see if I can postpone my medical but came across some information regarding an extension of twelve month for a medical due after 01/01/20 but there isn’t any other information so I am not sure if the form has to be returned or I just ignore it. Hope this explains it better.

Thanks

11 months if you do nothing. 12 months if you complete the D4 yourself and send off a new photograph (for which you will receive a one year duration replacement licence). The self-certification was announced first and then they decided that if you didnt need a physical and in-date licence (ie for foreign travel), then you could continue with an expired licence for eleven months.

I am certain that this is correct: and equally sure that they did a terrible job lf letting people know.

Hi

Thanks that’s a great help. I am not using my license at the moment so will just ignore the D4 for the moment and sort it when I am back in the uk.
