Just wondered if anyone's been through this and has the answers.

I've bought a 65C18 (6.5T gross) Iveco ex snap on van for my racing, to transport the car and tools etc.

I understand that any goods vehicle 3.5t and over has to be limited but the grey area is that it's not a goods vehicle anymore, is privately owned with my name on the V5 and will obviously be stickered up not for hire or reward... Does this mean the speed limiter can be removed or does it need to stay?

Any advice / info much appreciated

Ryan

Sorry needs to stay unless you can get it registered as a motor home ...

'Not for hire or reward' stickers are a nonsense. A bit like copying and pasting some nonsense about consent on Facebook or wearing a copyrighted t-shirt design to stop CCTV operators from looking at you.

I would get the speed limited re-calibrated using a special set of tyres. You only need to be able to go a little faster than everyone else,,, You will probably see a significant drop in fuel economy though, depending on the final drive ratio that the original buyer selected.
