Camera Wing Mirrors . Any good ?

In the past weeks iv'e been seeing more and more on the new trucks whilst on the motorways in the Vivaro van , What's your thoughts ?

I’ve not driven one, and I’m a bit old school. However, I’ve asked a few drivers who use them, and the feedback is generally positive.

Not sure about smaller vehicles but on a Mercedes truck they are brilliant.
The only potential drawback is if the electronics fail later in the vehicle life but I'd take the risk as it's outweighed by the benefits.

We have an Actros with mirrorcam, I don’t like it.

The driver that’s on it full time has got used to it and he says it’s good.

It’s failed 6 times in less than a year so the truck is going back to Mercedes soon

I was quite impressed with them, but I prefer mirrors and plenty of cameras.
