So this just happen.., I have question as personally I'm affected by this I have bought a course with hgv specialised through finance (believe it was given to me through ikano bank) to get my license C+E however because of this virus I didnt receive the service I have paid for and now the company has ceased my training? What happens now, I'm not willing to pay for something monthly that I have never received, does anyone know what my righte are?

I forgot to mention, the finance was sorted through HGV specialised through an advisor on the phone, ikano bank was their partner I believe.

If there is no response from the training company, the next thing to do is to speak to Ikano.

Under section 75 of the consumer credit act they are also liable for the terms of the contract you entered into with the company in administration. (This is the same legislation as that which protects you when you pay on a credit card). See https://www.experian.co.uk/consumer/credit-cards/g... for example

In practice this means they should just cancel your agreement and refund any deposit you paid.

If they don't, you can complain to the Financial ombudsman.

Hope that helps

Cheers for the reply, I have contacted ikano today I have sent them an email, I have also been informed by hgvspecialised that ikano will have a telephone line open on the 4th just for this issue, I will see how it goes.

I know for a fact I will refuse to pay for something I didnt receive lol.

I hope you get your money back.
Do you not already have an HGV licence to drive the dustcart?

Unless you're moving icebergs - I would keep well away from "arctics".

Is English part of the course as I think you meant "artics"?......

I just noticed this thread on another forum which may be of use/interest. The trainer/training guys on there are generally quite clued up and will advise what to do if you post your problem there.
