These?

They're not separate but can be split to deliver two different containers.

Or can carry one standard container.

I have seen in Sweden wagon and drag trucks ,the front is a longish rigid and it's dragging a full length 40 odd

foot length trailer too.

Too long for UK.

I have pics on other device.

We have 'Turnpikes" out here , two 53' trailers coupled by a converter dolly , otherwise known as mobile chicanes . Total pain in the arse for other truckers blocking up rest areas and fuel stops , and absolutely no chance of reversing those things . Pulled a few back in 06 and it's like the tail wagging the dog , great fun during our winters .

These i think, not heard of them before. Confined to France by the looks of it. Not legal in the UK but the trailers i posted above would negate the need for them.

I'm guessing they predate the newer trailers, they've only appeared in the past few years.

interesting thought with the supposed shortage of truckers in the uk could we not allow longer wagons to operate even on motorways?

There isnt a shortage of drivers, only a shortage of people dumb/desperate enough to take the low pay and poor conditions.
