I will be doing my Class 2 LGV test this year.

I am pretty clear on the process, apart from the CPC section.

I will not be driving for work, nor carry anything other than horses to events (which maybe more than 62 miles away).

Do I need CPC?

Are you getting paid to do this or are they your own horses?

They are a friends horses, so I will not get paid.

I am doing it as I like them, so just a favour occasionally and to help oy on longer journeys, so they dont have to pull over-we can just swap drivers.

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/driver-cpc-exemptions-...

The Government said:
You don’t need Driver CPC if you:

don’t want to drive for a living, for example, you want to drive for a hobby

Thanks-I did see that

But another section says you don't need one if you are "driving within 62 miles (100 kilometres) of your base - but the vehicle can’t be carrying passengers or goods, and driving a lorry, bus or coach can’t be your main job"

I will be going more than 62 miles, but not getting paid.

hence my confusion.

Doesn't apply as you're not driving as part of your job.

Yes, you only need it to drive commercially.

Yes, I know that: my point was that I hadnt seen any trainers offering C without DCPC.

I took C1E without having to do any CPC as I'm not going to be using it commercially

Did you go straight to C1+E from a grandfathered C1 entitlement?
