Need some help at work.
Desperately trying to source a conversion kit to allow a Cat 336D to lift under LOLER compliant regulations.

My problem is that typically, with Indonesia being as safe as it is here, nobody ever applies these regulations, normally a shackle on the end of the boom, or even worse, a homemade padeye on the back of the bucket will do.

Sadly, that will not do for me or my client, but none of the local suppliers are willing to put in the leg work and do the conversion, probably as I only want to rent a 336D for 6 months.

Does anybody know what the kit is called and which department I should be calling in Caterpiller UK, or even Komatsu as I also have a Komatsu PC300 available if it's easier.
Very willing to buy and airfreight to Indonesia for immediate installation.

Cheers,
Jakarta

We have just gone through this: main requirements for an excavator to be able to lift are.
1. Double check valve on boom
2. Overload alarm/indicator
3. Lifting chart displayed inside the cab

The HSE have some info online or feel free to message me.

I managed to make some headway;

Wassel in Germany
Nem in Italy
DeltaPSystems in Australia
Plantmech in Australia

The fastest off the shelf response was from the last one, very helpful too on modifications.
Now I just need to get the Cat supplier to install and test it.
Will mean changing a few of the hydraulic lines to high pressure too, all valves tested to ISO 8643.
