Family member offering me a free 1.9 trafiv that is a bit tired in the brakes and suspension, doors and interior but it has a good engine amd chasis in general. Now also found a 2.0 for pennies whos injector is knackered but rest is fine. Can i use the 2.0 as a donor to do the 1.9 up

Yes but the engines differ massively.

The 150bhp laguna engine and gearbox drops right in the 2.0 and maps to a reliable 185 bhp for a fun alternative.

I know the engines are different, it's more the interchangeability of the brakes and suspension.

Driveshafts are different so assuming hub and bearings are different. Brakes are same, top mounts are same, arms are same, arb bushes are same. Dunno about the rest.

That's what I thought it might be, good news as its being delivered in an hour!

Before I write the engine off though I am going to try running the engine with the stuck injector bracket loosened hoping the pressure will work it out

Soak it in coke then get a slide hammer on it. Then silicone the scuttle. The 2.0 is worth the effort.

mate who delivered the van yesterday had been talking to local garage who had been trying to free the injector, acid soak, brake cleaner, jacks all done but to no avail! Weather been awful since the van came so not even got the bonnet opened yet but think it will be plan A to fix up the older running van

those 2.0 m9r engines can be a mare to get injectors out, they can snap in the head even with the right pullers.

Theres a guy in Perth who can remove these injectors no matter how bad they are, but I doubt it would be economically feasible to get him to come to the Western Isles I think is mileage charges are quite high.
