Volvo 750 v Scania 730
Discussion
Company local to me has both for running the continent.
I'm not a fan of the FH4 cab layout and much preferred the R series Topline cab, more room and useable space, however with griffin spec the Scania falls short on Storage space using up 2 top lockers for the microwave and coffee maker, the under bunk drawer is substituted for the fridge freezer.
The Volvo comes with 3 cupboards along the back wall which is a massive bonus and certainly helps if doing multiple nights out.
As for performance, the 750 has the edge, the I shift gearbox being the main factor, scanias opticruise just can't match it.

It'll be nice if one day the i-shift dual clutch can be spec'ed with the fh16, that'll be a weapon!
Unrelated to power but recently I went from a v8 R500 topline to a FH3 460. (More money, less hours, less fancy truck). The FH is ergonomically superior but so much smaller than the Topline! As stated above, transmissions are a world apart, I find in the scania gearbox is fine, so long as you use it in manual mode 100% of the time (especially if you have noisy exhausts like I used to - nothing makes you look like a tit like a revving the tits off your noisy scania and jolting in and out of the wrong gear)
That 40bhp makes such a difference at these power levels, but you have to ask yourself if 20bhp makes even a noticeable difference at those big numbers!
