My Volvo tractor unit has Alcoa alloys fitted, but are now looking very tired.
Is there anywhere close to Milton Keynes that can refurb them ( polish ) or may consider buying a new set if I can find a good deal.

Appreciate any help

Tyretracks may be worth a call, think they are a UK dealer.
If not try the owner and fleet operators forum on trucknetuk.com

Didn't 'Fat Nick' clean up a set himself? Im sure I recall seeing a post about it.

Not successfully!

I got some wheel acid off a mate of a mate. Cleaned them up for a few days, did leave a bit of staining though. could have maybe kept on top of them, but I don't have time. Now they're fairly corroded (on my old truck in the yard, but still fairly clean). Nasty stuff though. Makes Tarmac foam!

However, if you actually have a workshop/facilities, there are loads of YouTube guide where people in America buff them to perfection, looks quite easy with the right tools and especially if you can get the wheels off the truck.

Now I've got dura-brights. Not quite as amazing looking when clean, but a damn sight easier to keep on top of.

Edit - this kind of thing http://youtu.be/3AMV9kzY3sY
Edit again - this suits my work ethic a little closer. I'd love to have a go at it. http://youtu.be/XP8K_PMlB-Y

Thanks....That all looks way too much like damn hard work to me smile
Also, my rims are a little nibbled around the edges, so I think I may just bite the bullet and get a new set. They just let the whole show down.

Send them to tyre tracks for repolishing,

We had a set come off a T Cab that had spent around 9 of its 11 years working out of a wood hauling timber, and the driver of the outfit wasn't remotely proud of his truck, it was washed when it rained, so you can imagine the state they were in

Sent them all to tyre tracks and they honestly came back like new.

Alternatively buy durabrites, just keep any acid away from them
