I'm about to order one for delivery in January and I'm wondering have any of you got one yet (I know they were released in the UK a small bit before they arrived here in Ireland) ?

If you have got one how do you like it?

I'm looking at the front wheel drive 180 bhp LWB one with the manual box and the Highline pack on it.

I reckon if I'm going to be in it for 40,000 kms / yr for at least the next 5 years I may as well the power and spec I want rather than settling for something else and knowing that I could have had the other one.

im waiting for official information to be released on the T6 Sportline before I place an order.

Currently have a T5.1 LWB Sportline Kombi which we had new in '13. Not a T6, but from what I can see visually there isn't much difference ( if it aint broke and all that) but the interior on the t6 does seem like a nice place to be especially in highline form. Too many niggles with the T5/T5.1 that really get on my nerves, but id still have one over any other 'nice' van.

I would however recommend the DSG box if you can stretch to it.. especially for the mileage you may be doing. Mated to the 180 engine the 300lb/ft torque is effortless with it!

When did you order it?

I can't decide between one of these or a Custom Sport. I know it's 'Just a van'

I ordered it yesterday

A mate of mine ordered one today but he went for the 140, not the 180

The Transporter drives way better than any of the alternatives in my opinion and if I'm going to spend at least 40,000 km per year in it I may as well have what I want

I know if I'd gone for one of the alternatives I'd have regretted it, I'd always have known I could have had the T6 but chose not to

I want to look at ordering some for our engineers, as we are currently running the older T5 models from 11 plate to 14 plate models so some could do with replacing.

Have your local dealers had them?

All the dealerships here in Ireland have them, not the 180 ones though, so I assume all the UK dealers have plenty of them to play with.

This week over here they're advertising a 24 hour test drive if you want one so that's worth asking for too

I can't desire between a T6 Kombi Highline or a Custon DCIV with a sports kit on it.

The ford is a heck of a lot cheaper, but I would probably only run it for 2-3year and chop it in. But if I go with the T6 I would run it for 4-5year as the hold value so well.

IMO the ford has slightly saturated the market so worried about trade in values.

Looking to order in the new year.

The service engineer at work has always had Mercs but fancied a change to VW, found a 50th anniversary one in stock so they bought it

It's been chipped and goes like stink apart from its gone through the front tyres in 12,000 miles

There's one thing he doesn't like though, VW enthusiasts flashing their lights and asking to look at it whenever he stops in the services but he is a miserable git

Nice van though

He's doing well to get 12k miles out of a set of front tyres, I'm getting 6/7k , think it's down to the awfull DSG gearbox.

More likely it's down to your right foot wink

The DSG is very slow to take off, like a really old auto box, once it's got wound up the boost comes in, and lots of wheel spin !.
I previously had a 180 bhp manual and just about managed 12k miles from a front set of tyres.

The transit customs seem to be holding there price pretty but a t6 is a safer bet. I'm not sure about them saturating the market either i still see a lot more transporters. Now the new cheaper trafic is out that will saturate the market.

Mine was delivered yesterday.

2016 LWB BMT T6 Highline 140 DSG. Happy with it. Had a 2012 140 DSG for 3 years before and a Vito for the past 12 months. I don't think there is much between the 2. I wanted the new Vito 116 or 119 but there were no good deals any where for them.

As for the tyres I used to do about 25K miles on a set of fronts on my last DSG 140 Transporter and I used to hammer it. These were on conti's.
