Scania opticruise. How to change default 3rd gear selection?
Discussion
Hi all
Most of our lorries at are scanias. Most of them have 3 pedal auto boxes. They all go straight to 3rd gear when put in drive, except one. The previous occupant of that lorry got it to default to 2nd gear when put into drive. He told me how to do it, but I didn't listen as I was in a manual lorry at the time. He left and is no longer in contact. Now I want to know how to change it, as does the new lad who seems to swap between two lorries, that being one of them. We usually run at 44t so I'd like to have it default to 2nd. Anyone know how to change it?
Thanks, nick.

You need to find the personal preferences menu by using the toggle switch on the steering wheel (mine is located at the 3 o'clock position on the wheel). Use the dash display to find the settings and scroll through until you find the preferences and click on it. You should find the ability to set the gear there.
Sorry I can't be more detailed but I'm one of those people who need to have it in front of me to explain properly but this should point you in the right direction.

I've got a picture of a spanner, which I'm assuming you mean the settings menu by.
Inside I have "startup check" which contains ad blue level and brakepad percentages "notice list" which contains bugger all. "Route data" "vehicle data" which has date and atmospheric pressure, strangely, plus engine hours. And "instrument" which seems to only contain stuff about the dashboard.

It took some googling but I found out how to do it in an an earlier model.
Have the truck turned off and in neutral.
Turn ignition on.
Put it into H on the stalk.
Dip and release clutch.
Back to neutral
(Should come up saying Start3)
Paddle up or down gear to your preferred start gear.
Job jobbed.
