I have a delivery to do in Germany on Monday, luckily it is very small so I can use our Corsa van (liveried and not restricted) Aiming for a Sunday evening ferry and will be in 'civilian' clothing, what if any holdups should I expect due to the current chaos ??
Its a gamble quite frankly, go via the M2, Sunday/Monday is the quietest day for channel crossing, if there's not much of a price difference ( for trucks its cheaper ) try the Dunkirk ferry, 3 hour crossing as opposed to 1 and 3 quarters.
I shipped out last Sunday, very quiet, on the way back I got stung, however OP Stack is on, but if you are booked on as a car, you will get priority over freight. just make sure you go M2/A2 way in no matter what the overhead matrix sign says.
Booked as freight or not? If freight you would really have to be in stack, you could try a cheeky nip round tho, if as non freight, you are in a far better position, I'd check with yr co.
(I'm at tunnel French side now 1900 Sat eve, no stack or delay this side)
A2/M2 worked perfectly, we were booked freight ( in a corsa) about a 40 minute delay going to Calais. Calais back to Dover nearly 4 hour delay, still at least it was warm and sunny.
