searching leyland daf roadrunner manual
Discussion
Hello
I'm trying to source a workshop manual for our leyland roadrunner. She's an old bird f reg 1986 but still going strong just trying to keep her in good working order and a few bits are just niggling and a book would help steer us in the right direction to fixing her.
Cheers for any help longshot i know but she who doesn't ask doesnt get x

A few hits on google, but this one looks promising, i.e. not a scam.

Or message mattdaniels as the 45 is very similar underneath to the roadrunner.

I smell horse box
Whats the issues you are having ? They are a cracking little truck not a lot goes wrong with them really.
As above they essentially the same as the Leyland Daf 45 for many many many years after yours was made so you will find plenty of info. The only real changes were how the cab looks inside and out the mechanicals are pretty much the same.

Yes she is a horsebox. Just looking to keep her going strong. Few bits at moment whuring noise coming from diff?? I believe when accelerateing in 4th gear. Brakes sticking hubby believes this to be caliper pistons so stripping that today. Clutch seems to run dry then struggle in/out of gear and accelerator very stiff theres no smooth acceleration its either going or not. But generally a good truck all be she had most of her front end made again and undercab as she was well rotten but as strong as ever now. Just thought a book/manual would be a handy thing to have around as much as the hubby thinks i should get rid and go newer i know how safe this one is after all its body rebuild and new floor etc that we've had done to horse section. The engine cummins i believe is sweet good starter/runner.
Cheers

How simple stuff is really depends if you can tilt the cab a lot of horse boxes you can't. Cheers
The rear brake adjusters seize on them so might be that.
Throttle cables also sieze easy enough if you can tilt the cab.
Sounds you have a fluid leak you will have to find that. If you need to take the booster off get a cheap spanner and grind it down as one of the nuts is a mere to get on. Then leave it off when you put it back it will be fine with 3.
Check the diff oil sometimes people put the wrong oil in but It might turn out that the diff is worn. That could turn a bit expensive or just put up with the noise.
Yes cummins engine which is a good strong engine.
