Talk to me about Iveco dailys
Discussion
Daily's are good for their towing capacity, and frame that they are built in. However, the cabs themselves are a let down, and I detest driving them. All feels too cheap. Speaking to our lads in New Iveco, the new one is a completely different beast, and rather lovely compared to the old one, Ill reserve judgement until I drive one myself.
Around the 8k mark, I would say 08-09 version, LWB Im guessing your looking at? They will generally have higher miles. If you can find a 3.0 for the money, amazing engine!

From my experience driving for a delivery company which has a mixed fleet of box vans. They are much worse to drive than the other's you mentioned and seem to be less reliable too.
The models we have are the automated manual and it's absolutely horrible to use, slow and jerky and indecisive.
Every single Daily we have had has needed a new clutch and rear anti-roll bar within 40k miles. They also seem to have a penchant for broken stereo's and broken front springs. The cup holders will crush a can when the van is new and then completely fall out of the dash. This was by far my biggest gripe with the van haha.
The model with DRL's will also melt it's bulb holder within 2 months. Not to mention the horrible driving position. (Every van seems to have it's seat bolted in at different distances to the wheel)
The engines are very strong and they handle very well for what they are when fully loaded. The do seem a bit more crashy than the Sprinters when empty, though
These comments all relate to all 3 facelifts of the previous model. I have absolutely no experience with the new model.
The main problem you'll probably face at that sort of age (apart from a broken stereo and no cup holders) will be suspension related. Especially if it's been used as a delivery van. I know our vans take an absolute hammering and they develop knocks and suspension issues quite regularly. The 2.3 and 3.0 engines really will go on forever, though. Just steer clear of the "Agile" gearbox.

Used to have to drive these in Minibus form. They were pretty dreadful. Noisy, slow, tractor feel, uncomfortable.
The transit beat it hands down in every single way. That being said, I think they are considerably cheaper than the Transit, and never once did I have a problem with an Iveco, whereas the same cannot be said for the Ford.
