We've all been there, right? You approach a road that in the ideal world you'd like to go down but it looks a tad tight, sometimes we go for it anyway and it all works out....... then there's the odd time when it doesn't work out and you have to back up, well, most people would back up
At what point would you decide to pull out (ooo err missus)?
For me, it's when both mirrors are folded in by something solid, hope I never get into that situation though.
Please include pictures if you have them of crazy tight fits that have gone wrong, or right.

Had a couple of worrying moments back in the day in Italian villages, zigzagging between low balconies, but luckily not been stuck, (yet.)
got lost last year trying to get to the festival site at Werchter in Belgium.
Ended up at the entrance to a village that I wasn't sure I'd get through?
Locked the lorry up and walked the length of village at 3am :0 just to be on the safe side.

Got stuck on a bridge once, down a wee single track road, had looked at it on the map and a couple of bits looked iffy, got throigh ok, just cross the bridge and a half mile later I'll be back on bigger roads.
Except..
The bridge is narrow. The road turns right off the bridge. There is a barrier along the left hand side after the bridge. My truck has a substantial tailswing. I have the osr wheel rubbing off the bridge, the underrun bar is scraping the other side and my front bumper is touching the barrier.
Had to push the barrier over a bit with the crane to get out.
I avoid that shortcut now...

I was out in the midlands in a 7.5 tonner and completed my last delivery , came out of the little industrial estate to a T junction left turn is signed as 7.5t weight limit but is 4 miles shorter to the motorway , not a problem thinks I I'm under that weight and off I set . One mile down the road the reason for the weight limit appears , a bridge , a bridge with traffic lights , a fu##ing 6'6" wide bridge ! No warning no signs sweet fuc# all .
And never trust bridge heights if it's close , many roads that have been resurfaced have not had the heights checked .
A mate was checking the route of a carnival because his artic trailer was extra tall and he found three bridges that were under the the sign posted height , the thought of hitting a bridge even at walking pace with a trailer full of kids sends a shiver down most peoples spines .

had one the other day "unsuitable for long vehicles". but i can see the farm! i'll risk it. 2 minutes later. all the wheels on the right side of the unit were up on the kerb 3 inches from the wall on the right side of a million year old single lane zig zag bridge, left hand wheels doing the same on the other side. i was very releaved once off and past the watching tractor driver. once loaded i took the longer route out.

I've recently been given a scania r500. no adblue, manual gearbox, perfect. On Tuesday my boss rings me up - Nick, I've just got you some eminoxes! Obviously i'm delighted. The delivery was at some railway arches in west London.
I drove into the alley for the arches,it got tighter,very tight.
I couldn't reverse back out due to "alligator teeth" in the ground.
I made it out the other end [eventually]although i scraped the rear corner as not enough room
to swing out into the road properly....
Haven't been there since.

Mate, we've already had two down this morning larger than yours...Technically we can get down there, but not without major scrapage, driving over rocks and through bushes. My accident bonus is worth the hassle I get from the office.
As an aside, with the picture above, I'd be panicking like mad! Not like he can reverse very easily and no way he's using the doors to get out

I get that all the time. I usually ask if they thing scraping the paint on a Bentley would be ok, cos this cost more than one.....I had one doing a job in Watford needed to go to reading after had a quick look at the map noticed a smallish looking road ending near junction 18 so thought I would give it a try went down the road no warning signs/restrictions thought this isn't too bad ill use this again about half a mile to the motorway go round a blind right hand bend and come face to face with an 11ft bridge with the link road visible under the bridge trouble was my rigid is 13ft managed to open a farmers gate and turn around after reversing back around the corner cost me about an hour.
Funniest one we had was a rival company that delivers to most of our customers had a driver hit a 12ft6 bridge as he went into the estate the wrong way and forgot he was driving a 24ton rigid rather than the little 7.5 ton motor that he normally drove luckily no structural damage to the bridge but the fridge box he was driving was knackered as it punched the fridge motor through the front wall and onto the chicken fillet he was supposed to be delivering

I've never been stuck yet but part of my job is getting into tight spots that lorries never normally go (concrete mixer). Luckily I only drive rigid so it makes it pretty easy.
There's a bridge round the corner from our yard marked as 11'9". Our biggest wagon is marked at 12'6" in the cab. I'd asked one of the drivers if it'll go under he says yeah but steady. First time I went under my heart was in my mouth but it bloody went. Dread to think how close it was lol. But that was with 12 ton of concrete in the drum so I was just as nervous on my way back.
