Ok as post says give me views on the premium cab,mpg etc ta
Your in luck ive was lumbered with one today 10 plate. 460 I think, werent a bad bus. Interior is like a beige in the one we ve got, wouldnt want it full time anyway.
MPGs heaviest I was today, was only 24 ton been running round the mudlands some dual/motorway etc and it was readin 9.6 mpg when I parked it up.
What year?
The firm I do abit for between the tour work have some premiums, 60 plate onwards.
I'm in 1 this week, a 61 plate. Cabs feel abit cheap and nasty if I'm honest both exterior and interior.
that said, I have to say I'm very impressed with the way they drive. Thd auto box is imo 1st class, far better than the m.a.n trucks they have. The ride is decent, sure footed and on the whole pretty comfortable, and I like the 3 stage exhaust brake, far superior to that of the daf super space cab I have on tour work.
for living in, I much prefer the daf. The premium has a large engine hump, that I find way to intrusive.
if your tramping all the time, I'd imagine it to be a right pain in the arse. The trim is a bit to plasticy and flimsy for my liking and wouldn't imagine it would stand the test of time to well.
Outside there are storage lockers botn sides, but sadly I think they are woefully small for carrying a decent amount of spare kit.
on the whole, as a fleet motor, or a truck for 1 or 2 nights away a week they are fine. With the volvo running gear they are now a pleasure to drive. If away all week though, or longer like on the tours I certainly wouldn't want to swap 1 for a daf super space or similar.
as for fuel figures, I have no idea, but I can ask if you want?

I've got a 61 plate 460, now done 400,000km and we use it hard. Blown the exhaust off twice using the exhaust brake, occasional sensor glitches, n/s cab mounts are knocking.
I'm impressed, it's double shifted dragging a bulk tanker which runs off of a pto so it's constantly bouncing about off road and the engine gets turned on Monday morning and off Saturday Morning. I ran a Scania on it before which ended up held together with cable ties and mastic with all of the suspension shot and a bucket full of GV9's just waiting for me to get pulled.
It's more of a driving lorry than a living in lorry, I love the gearbox in it and the sitting position is perfect. They're road trucks, the ride height is crap, bumper is fibreglass, no locking diff, can't lift the axle up if it's got more than 5 tonne on it (non steer so scrubs tyres), absolutely useless on anything less than a solid surface. Does feel a bit cheap inside, but nothings rattling or broken yet. IIRC mine says 7.2mpg but it gets driven hard, the boys on isotrak are getting well into the 8 according to the scoreboard the have (all our motors are bulkers/brick work so they run 44t constantly)
One of my favorite trucks so far, would prefer a Volvo over it, I'm starting to think it's even better than my old XF DAF which I loved.

I drive a 13 plate 460 (below) and had an 11 plate 460 before. No serious issues other than the annoying warning codes that come up every now and then, but that could be down to our dusty yard playing up with the sensors ? MPG is good. Auto box is good and can be changed to manual shift. Just the minimum of contact with the manual stem will shift it one gear at a time, too heavy a shift and it will go up a couple of gears. Blind spots are covered well with the mirrors. They pull ok-ish fully loaded but can struggle up prolonged hills.
Mine has a fridge that works well and the interior is ok, if a little cramped compared to other trucks. Beds are comfortable, seat and steering wheel is easily adjusted. I like them and find them a breeze when driving around London as they are very relaxing to drive. Steps were really flimsy as they're only plastic, although they've strengthened them since the 11 plates. The electric service plugs at the truck end can break at the bolt webbing area if the services are stressed too much, so I avoid too many tight 360 degree turns. Radio/DVD are good and have TRAFFIC and NEWS buttons. The raising of the air suspension control has a mind of its own sometimes, but you turn the ignition OFF and back ON and it's ok. Probably down to too much going on at the same time if you lower the TAG during operation.

Been out in a 63 plate today, it had no kickdown on the pedal or power mode on the gearbox, made it crap to drive. Had jacked up suspension too, 2 inches taller than mine, felt like it was going to fall over on the corners. So if you buy one, make sure that it's got the kickdown activated and doesn't look like a monster truck.
Bloody thing kept turning itself off too, thought it was broken until I read the sticker on the windscreen. Stupid economy bks

I drove a `07` plate 450dci for two years, cracking motor, good engine, excellent auto box, comfortable seat, not too bad on fuel,we were running bulk powder tanks so either fully freighted or empty.Must admit that they could do with more cupboard space but the shelf above the passenger footwell is excellent for putting a tv on.
