Had one for almost a year now and 30000 miles. Totally reliable . It's only had two front tyres replaced and not needed anything else.
It's averaged 28.6 mpg and that is not trying too hard. Stop start does make a difference to the mpg. About 500 miles to a tank. Dashboard is well laid out and the speed limiter , cruise control and built in hands free all easy to use.
Drives more or less like a car but there is a fair bit of wind noise at motorway speeds. My van is a 313 with 130 hp . It is reasonably powered but sometimes could do with a bit more grunt on steep hills, especially running at max weight in the Scottish highlands. The brakes are sharp but the handbrake needs adjusted quite frequently. Headlights are very bright.
It must be said that the paint is already starting to show signs of rust around the bottom of the sliding door, and the very bottom of the sills.
Leap years ahead of the ford transit. Money well spent.

Had one a year now, 2010 313, cost me £10.500 jury is still out.
Seems to go through tyres quite quick, getting spots of rust coming through, I find this very disappointing for a premium priced van, when I moved my mate a few weeks ago he was very surprised a 60 plate van was starting to rust.
I use it for multidropping, so it doesn't have an easy life, my old 05 (old shape), was more quick off the mark, & was better on fuel.
Make sure if you get one to get a catalyist protection guard, or the cat will go walkies!
I bought another Sprinter, as I was so impressed with my old one, but not sure these newer ones are as good, certainly more sensors & electrical stuff to go wrong!

I currently drive a 13 plate 313 for Royal Mail, had a 11 plate before, not a lot between them really, 313 seems good on power but does struggle on hills when full, this one has 'side wind intervention' which was fantastic on New Year's Eve on the a35 Bridport end, did what it said on the tin!
When I was an owner driver a couple of years back I had a 55 plate 316, the new 313 pretty much matches it for power but then it's a more modern engine.
A 200 mile trip every afternoon with mixture of motorway and a/b roads returns 26.9 mpg, and I fairness I don't push it too much now as speeding fine was £100!
If I went back to owning a van it would be this one, but got to say the transit is also very good, but you get what you pay for

Hi,
I am looking at buying a used sprinter flatbed or drop side around a 2010ish , I see there are quite a few ex supermarket home delivery sprinters with auto boxes, I could remove the fridge box and fit a flat as they look very good value
What are they like?
Would I be better off with a manual?
Sorry to high jack the thread.
