I own a trafic 115Dci. Mine does mainly shirt town journies and returns approx 27mpg. When on longer motorway type journies that creeps up to nearer 35mpg.
Reliability wise, I've owned mine for 6 years and every MOT it requires suspension components, bush related as these are a week point plus the seat material isn't very hard wearing. The edge as you climb in and out disintegrate. This is also a common fault.
As a vehicle I would have another as I'm very pleased with it and it drives nicely. Yes I would reckon end one.

I have a 2 year old Vivaro Sportive LWB (115 bhp I think) I'm averaging about 35 mpg and I carry around 3-400kg most of the time.
I do know they suffer with track rod ends as they are only Vectra/Insignia ones, so I've been told. Also I had some warranty work done this year on the gearbox, but I must say I am not the most sympathetic person when it comes to driving.
Personally I think they are good vans, I'm on my 2nd one..

I sell vans for a living, and they are my best sellers, I can't get enough of them.
35mpg sounds about right from my customers reports. The seats as noted, soft on the edge. On the older ones, injector faults with no.1, I know at least at Vauxhall now, that as long as it has history, they replace all 4 under extended warranty (which is nice) and modify the scuttle to stop it happening again

We run a big fleet of them on multi-drop work. 27-29mpg is in the right ball park - ours are all fridge conversions which is roughly 300kg dead-weight being lugged about as well as the actual cargo.
Ours are a mix of ages (10 through 62 plates) and live a hard life so have seen most of the faults that crop up.
- Gearbox linkage cables are hilariously common, I think at one point I had 6 vans running about with the RAC's favourite cable-tie bodge whilst Vauxhall had parts on order. Happens anywhere between 50-100k, the cable just pops off the ball joint on the gearbox leaving you unable to change gear. It gets more frequent as the ball joint on the selector wears down with age. Can be bodged very easily at the roadside by anyone with three cable ties and 12 fingers on each hand.
- Suspension components are made of chocolate and nearly every MOT leads to ARB drop links, track rod ends or wheel bearings. Multi-drop vans see their fair share of kerb-bouncing idiocy though!
- Injectors as mentioned, only really noticed it on our 60-61 plate vans and no further issues once fixed under warranty.
They have gotten progressively more reliable - I've seen one engine and one gearbox go pop at less than 50k on 10-plate vans, but never heard of it since. We had a batch of 12-plates which didn't seem to like the cold weather and had injectors + fuel filters replaced at around 70k, but they have needed no other work other than servicing and are well past 100k now.
Edit just to add: As drivers we all love them compared to the Transits we had before. How Ford managed to peddle such s
te for so long is beyond me.

I have a 61 plate Vivaro Sportive carries anything from 100 to 1100 kg 850 miles so far this week of all kinds of roadwork and getting 42 mpg av... I do go about 70mph and really over 75 but if you want MPG don't drive like a tool.
My last one was bought with 20k and given away with 240k 3 years later, 1 clutch and suspension arms changed , but have heard of gearbox problems.
Cheapest good van on the market IMHO
