Without a doubt this is a 'how long is a piece of string' questions, however it would be useful to get an opinion on price regions.

I have a 1989 7.5t Leyland Road Runner, which has been converted to carry my race car and provide living accomodation.

Mechanically it is pretty solid and internally it is in pretty good condition. However it is really showing it's age and looking tatty externally.

I would potentially be looking at getting the 20ft box (timber), side lockers and cab painted in a solid colour. The cab will require some welding(particularly around the screen),but I could potentially do this seperately.

Before I start calling around coachworks and horsebox builders what sort of quotes can I expect?

Paint shop I use will tell you that a respray will cost as much as you want to spend! I also paid 2k to have a new truck painted my own colour but I would expect to add another thousand pounds for an older vehicle due to increased preparation time.
P.s. Hi Paul, good to see you on here as well as on the road!! Sarah.

That's why a lot of people have just wrapped them instead, can get a quick cheap job done on a cab for about £1k with pretty pictures. The things are scrap around here after 5 years anyway because of the LEZ so when it starts fading and peeling off it's normally time for another one.
