I had bridge warnings on my old unit, but when it died, I went looking for some again and came across this site.I paid for them from somewhere else before, so I was happy to donate a few quid to this site for these offerings, but you don't have to.

You have a choice of seperate POI's or all in one selections.I stuck in the individuals as it showed up all the heights on the map at a glance.I think you can also set your sat nav so it warns of certain heights on your route with an audible warning.

I must admit, I only really looked at London after my install, but I gather it covers most of the UK.

Installing was a simple case of connecting the sat nav to the PC via USB, dropping all the files in my map folder and then enabling the POI's (points of interest)

Does it allow you to plan a route avoiding certain heights?

I think that will depend on your sat nav and the options it allows for POI's.These are just the same as adding in safety cameras, petrol stations, pubs and airports etc.Mine can be set to warn when a certain distance from any POI, but I rarely use that option now.

Route planning wise, for me at least, I simply used to enter a destination, browse the part of that route in any area I was unfamiliar with and quickly alter it if height was an issue before I set off.
