We have a new transit pickup in work , and about 6 of us have been given digi tachograph forms to fill in to apply for a card for it? just a couple of questions.

Why do we need tachos to drive a truck that weighs less than 3.5 ton? is it some sort of new regs

Also do we not need a licence to drive over 3.5 ton anyway, as none of us have a c or c+e etc and all passed after 1997.

You would need a card if you are towing

The truck won't be used for towing though and none of us can tow anything over 3.5 ton anyway.

Bet it's a leased or long term hire pickup? Most now come with the tacho due to the commercial towing regs.

Yes that sounds right ,so now some desk jockey / pen pushing prick has got there
Wires crossed , if your train weight is under 3.5 ton you
Don't need to use a tachograph even if one is fitted ...it's just there if you
Need to tow ..

I wouldn't worry providing that they don't expect you to pay yourself.
