This might be useful for those where they have banks holls off and sunday midnight off as part of their usual weekly rests

Being off xmas and boxing day will give a regular weekly rest for the fixed week 23/12 to 29/12

Having the weekend of the 28/12 + 29/12 off and starting on Monday will give a regular weekly rest for the fixed week 30/12 to 05/01

That puts the weekly rests at the start of each fixed week so at some time in the future two weekends in a row can be reduced weekly rests because one of them will not be used as a weekly rest for any fixed week

If new years day is also taken off then that will just be an extra reduced weekly rest for the fixed week 30/12 to 05/01 and will not need compensating for because it is not a weekly rest used for a fixed week

This might only be useful to those who want to get in some extra hours at some point or find themselves needing an extra Saturday morning to get back to base .......
