Hi
Looking for a small van. Mileage won't be high. I've seen one that's done 297K with FSH. Would you entertain it or will it be ready for major expense very soon?
Thanks

Might be fine and must have been looked after to do that sort of mileage
As op said if the price is right and it drives ok esp if you don't plan on doing thousands a month could be a good buy,
The thing is you could buy a 100k miler and need to spend on it...
Plenty of breakers if you need major parts....

Depends on the engine. We had a small engined one at work for a while and when loaded, it had to be ragged to fk to get it to move.
So in that case, probably not

There has to be a lot of motorway miles in there for it to have covered so many miles in the time.

It might have only done as many, or maybe even less cold starts and cold miles than a car with 30,000 or 60,000 miles on the clock, so it might be a good deal tighter than youre expecting.

Sounds promising however bidding is approaching the level of those in the classifieds at a fraction of the mileage. As always with auctions treat like a private sale - how much would you pay if it was advertised for sale in the local rag?

Think we're going to go for a 90bhp anyway plus other half wants solid back doors not glazed.
Thanks for the input. Be interesting to see what it ends up at.

See someone has asked about the condition of the gear knob and seat bolster.
I suspect this is going to reappear somewhere at 97000 and a price tag of £5000

Can be the only reason for the ridiculous price its at already. Clockers paradise.

I still think 300k and it will be pretty shagged all round, for £1500-£2000 maybe worth the risk. For £3000 plus, not a chance.
