Looking at a DAF 45 car transporter at the minute. One up, two down. It's cheap, but I feel it's too cheap so my suspicions are raised. Full years PSV but that means nothing, anyone can get a cert these days for a few quid.

What are general things to look out for on these lorries, other than the usual rust and rot? Common faults etc. It's a 6 cyl turbo.

Is it a 7.5 tonner? Get it on a weighbridge and see what it weighs. The chance of it carrying three cars are non existent.

6 cylinder Cummins is a good, reliable engine.

Find a well-regarded HGV garage and pay for half an hours labour. A good fitter will find everything wrong with it in this time and still have time for a brew.

Money very well spent.
