I did the course in the new year because the people I do work for asked me to and paid for it as long as I carry on with them for a year, also this gave me enough hours towards the cpc rubbish.
8 months later the conclusion is what a lot of bks !
Tuesday I picked up ONE lithium ion battery (weight 460kgs in its case) and had to show plates and conform to tunnel rules etc etc.
Thursday I delivered 2.5tons (100) of lead acid batteries no plates or restrictions. Because they were in a different class of hazard and packaging class.
You can tell that the rules and regulations have been written by a committee of civil servants and scientific nerds just by the size of the manuals.
It was summed up by the course tutor who said, if it goes tits up, get out stay out and call the emergency services, they have the kit and training, just make sure the paperwork is in order !
