Driving Hours Records
Discussion
Then you come under full eu regs in any fixed week in which you drive
Eu daily rest for the DAYS in which you drive
Eu weekly rests for any WEEK in which you drive
Official records for all of the week in which you drive
No driving in a fixed week = no other records required and no eu regs rules
Eu daily rest for the DAYS in which you drive
Eu weekly rests for any WEEK in which you drive
Official records for all of the week in which you drive
No driving in a fixed week = no other records required and no eu regs rules
Thanks for reply. Its above 7.5 tons vehicles carrying trade waste. A week is Mon to Mon? What if I don't drive all week so have no records, but than am required to drive on the Saturday. It seems I will need to keep records all the time just in case. It just seems wrong that if I drive for one hour in a two week period that I then have to take a fortnightly rest. Do you know if this is the case.

The fixed week for EU regs is sunday midnight to sunday midnightIf you did no driving mon to fri then found you have to drive on sat then you simply fill in seperate analogue cards for the mon to fri work with your name, date, start & finish times on each one
Assuming you do some EU regs driving every week then you must by law have that 45 hours off in one go every other week
Give me your normal senario over a 6 week period and I will see what I can do with it
Example -
weekend off
mon - fri no driving
sat driving
sun off
mon to wed no driving
thu driving
fri and sat no driving
sun off
etc etc
week end off
mon- fri other work
sat off
sun 2 hours driving 6 other work
mon- thur other work
fri off
sat 1 hour driving 7 other work
sun 2 driving 6 other work
mon- fri other work
then the same again, just made this up but would like to know if it can be done so I could do more over time, thanks for looking at this for me.

You have a full weekly rest (weekend off) followed by a reduced weekly rest (sat off) then followed by another reduced weekly rest (fri off) which is illegal
For simplicity, you need a full weekly rest every other week

Thanks for that, I thought as much, It would be better not to drive at all then.
I am trying to do more over time instead of having every other weekend off. Sometimes I won't drive for weeks, only test drive after work has been done.
Is this driving you do ONLY for road testing vehicles ?I am trying to do more over time instead of having every other weekend off. Sometimes I won't drive for weeks, only test drive after work has been done.
I have just had a DCPC course today on drivers hours. The trainer said I can drive 6 days a week every week as long as I don't breach 90 hours a fortnight. I have looked into this on the internet and can not find anything confirming this. I still think ROG is right above. Is the trainer full of it?

The 90 hours a fortnight is referring to the driving time rulesIt is the weekly rest rules which determine when the driver can be on duty
It is possible to drive on every calendar day in every week and still be legal
Example = finishing at 0100 on satuday and then restarting at 2200 on sunday is 45 hours off = full weekly rest
Without clogging this up with my problems I would like to ask advice too.
I am now office/workshop based, I am not a driver, I also do a the 6 weekly checks or our 6 vehicles, one a week but do not road test them.
I might be needed to drive a truck on a local job once in a blue moon, less than 25 kilometers for the whole trip over an hour or two, go to store, load, drive to drop off, unload, back to base.
At the moment I am not filling out a WTD sheet, I am not carrying tachos because I don't have any because I drive so infrequently. All our trucks are still discs and we have no digis.
I work 8 until 5.30 daily. sat and sun off completely.
What am I doing wrong ? there is bound to be something.

When you do that small trip in a LGV you would legally be required to officially record all other work done in that fixed week as you will be under EU regs for that tripI am now office/workshop based, I am not a driver, I also do a the 6 weekly checks or our 6 vehicles, one a week but do not road test them.

I'm in a similar sort of predicament, I work shifts which allow me quite a bit of spare time. If a friend is short of a driver I'll often do a couple of days for him. I've been keeping a diary of my other work but it would appear I need to write out many blank charts. What would happen if I just ditched the diary and claimed I only worked the days which I had Tacho records for? Seems far simpler, will they bother actually checking and if so how?
