So did everyone get on ok so far???
I'm doing Basildon to Merthyr and back tonight, my longest run. 42 ton all the way there, do if you hit it right it takes 4 hours 20 mins. All was well until 20 mins from Merthyr and then the snow just dropped, so lost time and have had to pull in to a kayby on the hills to get a 45 min break in. Xan't see the road now, everywhere is white ANC ad I pulled to a stop all the red engine warning lights have come on frown
I hope it's not turning into 1 of those nights!!!

Well apart from getting stuck before I'd left the yard....

I managed ok, not a lot of snow left around York last night.

tilbury?
i thought most would be ok, i do love the way the media go so over the top when it comes too, "extreme" weather. 1 radio report last night, said the A.A had rescued 20 people trapped in their cars. really!

i did 715 kms last night, top marks to the gritters, as even in the places that had, had the snow, they'd done a top job of keeping everywhere clear. the only place it was bad, was in merthyr, but they were dealing with it as i left.

Ta mate, but credit to the day driver, not me smile
A few of them here really make an effort with their trucks? And that - IMHO is the nicest looking on the fleet.
Being the night man I drive them all, and always make sure I leave them as clean, or cleaner than I find them smile
Have tbh though, I don't like the auto box in the m.a.n? I actually prefer the renaults, (volvos) for driving!
All change in a few weeks as changing job, so will be in a daf ssc soon and thankfully it's a manual smile

yes Tilbury, for my sins. They've got rid of 10 of their own motors and got us in to sub, I think we all know they're going to regret that.

Is the penthouse suite still going, haven't seen that about for a while. I know a few of those motors from back in the day at wouldham road, there's one sitting in our workshop at the moment too.

Back in the good old days when I was self employed we used to rent a few parking spaces over in the corner of the wouldham road yard, I've spent years playing silly games over there. iirc the penthouse suite used to have a table on the dashboard with a couple of champagne glasses and a rose glued to it hehe

Just heard about that incident on the local new website. Sounds a hell of a lot better at least than what occured on the A14 earlier... frown

sounds like the bad stuff is coming in from the West tomorrow. Luckily I've got two full loads, one to Hayes, first thing. The second load will be in North London, so I should be safe. biggrin
