Why do so many trucks get littered up with more lights on the front of the cab than Oxford street in the festive season?

personal preference i think.
some guys/their companies go mad for the whole add on lights, alloys, stacks etc, its not my thing, but sometimes it looks good. the big spotlight bars you can get do come in handy though when on nights, the extra light they kick out can come in very handy at times a couple of trucks at our place have them.
not bloody cheap though.

I can understand the usefulness of added spots, but the blue, green, pink, etc. lights can be distracting for motorists.
Personal preference and all that - can't say I approve though.

me either.
white lights at the front, red at the back, amber side lights, job done.

How they drive with those things lit up inside the cab is beyond me! Some if the dutch wagons are quite tasteful but most are like seaside arcades .
If you add up all the extras its a big investment ontop of the price of a decent rig.
In the region of £200k+ for a top unit + fridge unit .plus about £1K each fill up .

Tacky crap imho, but for some reason when a small van- Transit etc does it, it just seems as- as if it were posible, even sadder still.
