Filling Tachos for days not at work?

My company makes us fill tachos in for rest days and leave days. I had a discussion with our newish manager today and he asked how many I would write for a weekend, I said one with a start and finish date for say Saturday and Sunday and if on leave it would be one card per week with a start date for beginning and end. He then said what if I get pulled up by VOSA how would I explain it, last time I was pulled by VOSA and showed cards for annual leave they laughed at me.
Our company even gave us a print out (said manager issued it to us) that states we are to write one card per period so I showed him this and asked what he didn't understand about it. After a bit of head and bk scratching he walked off more confused than when he started the conversation.
Even the drivers that solely use digi cards have to do this even though our company professes to be eco friendly and they do like cutting a few rain forests down just so they can waste our time. So how many of you fill in cards for days off and annual leave?

Letters of attestation(sp?) are required in some euro countries. These cover days when not working or doing work not covered by tacho or digi card.
As tacho's and digicards only record driving and assoc duties why the hell you fill them out when not working is beyond me .

when i do the tour work, we have to have these.

If not going outside UK then there is no legal requirement to record rest days

If your company policy is to do so and they are paying then do it

Tbh recording rest days on a chart seems like one of the silliest things in this industry( and thats saying something..)
Some moron in an office wants you to fill a chart to say you.arent there to fill in a chart?
The clue is.in that youre not.there. How do.you.record it?
Shopping with the wife. Definitely hard work
Going to.the game. POA.
Out for.a.meal. Waiting time.
