american trucker, (tv program)
Discussion
anyone watch it?
i'm not a stobart hater, i guess most of the male and female truck drivers that work there are good honest folk, but i despise the tv show. so over the top, over hyped, over dramatic and staged for viewing figures, not to give a true and acurate account of the industry we work in.
now i've not driven any ice roads either, but this i.r.t seems to be in the same vain.
however, i've now seen a few episodes of "american trucker" and although robb moriani, the presenter, gets a little excited at times i really enjoy his show. he seems to have a very genuine interest of the trucks, truck drivers and the trucking industry in general and this really comes across well in his shows. i'd say its well worth a watch over the other shows mentioned.

I actually caught an episode of this today, they were restoring a Kenworth from a movie, can't remember which now, but it was very good.
Will have to watch it more often. Looks much better than IRT!
/edit - on the subject of IRT, Dave Redmon's youtube channel is interesting. Gives an interesting account behind the scenes of IRT and how fake it was. Rick Yemm's facebook is also quite good. I like watching IRT for a bit of a laugh, but do take it with a pinch of salt.
