What are those bits of thin, flappy plastic for, hanging off tail lifts?

Usually rectangular, about - ooh, I dunno, maybe 8 or 10 inches long by 6 inches wide. Normally rivetted along the top edge so that the thing hangs like a flap?

I wouldn't have thought it'd be inside vosa's remit. More likely should be picked up when your tail lift has it's loler (or something like that) inspection.

Or maybe your tail lift's old? And old tail lifts Don't need flappy things?

Yep, lights, flags or reflectors are required when platform is horizontal.
