Nasty one on the M1 this morning:

http://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/news/local/femal...

I passed it going Northbound in the usual rubber-necking queue and saw (from 15a) the air ambulance taking off.

When I passed the scene, the trailer was on its side and the cab was smashed up against the bridge support.

21 years old. I hope she fully recovers.

21!
Female!

I'm all for female truckers (as they often look quite hot) but that's very young for anyone to drive trucks.
I wonder if she was the hauliers daughter?

Driver of the HGV died im afraid, given that she was trapped in the cab for over 4 hours, it wasnt a huge surprise
Unfortunately, she managed to hit another car, that was stopped on the hard shoulder, after being involved in an earlier incident. Luckily for the driver of the car, HATO had attended and got her to get out of the drivers seat, where she was.
Saved her life.
I dont know why she hit the car on the h/s, motorway was pretty much empty at the time it hit
Any chance you can give a source for that? Rumours were spreading on truck forums yesterday resulting in RIP messages even though the girl was in care, in an induced coma. Bit distasteful really.
My thoughts are with Mandy and her family.

Looks like the driver is on the mend thank goodness. Fortunately the tea room rumour mongers were talking bks. Perhaps it would be a good idea in future if said rumours could be left in the tea room instead of being spread around on public forums where friends and family may be looking.

Glad she's getting better, I was thinking of her this week, I drove past the crash site
